God After God
This week we turn toward a different type of "negative theology". One that is more oriented to the concerns of justice and the present world. These thinkers are, to a greater or lesser extent, responding theologically to the great religious critiques of the 19th century with a sensitivity to the insights of the Christian mystics and the justice tradition of the biblical text. Understanding these more existentialist approaches provides a great way of approaching some of the contemporary thinking around theology and atheism that we'll be looking at next week.
