Surviving Christmas: A Conversation with Sean McDonald
Over the years you've heard me employ psychoanalytic ideas to explore philosophical, political and religious issues. But the theory is first and foremost designed to help individuals live and love. So I felt that it would be helpful to talk to an expert who works with these ideas on a daily basis with real people dealing with real issues.
It seems like a good time to have this conversation, as Christmas can be a difficult season. It can be a volcanic time in which repressed material erupts, spilling over in the form of arguments, break ups, loneliness and despair.
I’ll be sitting down with Sean McDonald, a Lacanian psychotherapeutic psychoanalyst who has a private practice in Los Angeles.
While we’ll kick off looking at Christmas, we’ll be taking a wider look at what it might mean to live and love well.
If you'd like to find out more about Sean and his practice, click here. I'd also recommend you follow the link if you live in LA and believe you might benefit from psychotherapy.
Time and Date
20th December
The conversation will be uploaded and available by 3pm PST
As always, the seminar can be watched live or later. To access this - and all other - pyroseminars, you just need to be signed up to the Flame level, or above, on Patreon.
I’ll be releasing the interview more widely on Christmas Day. So only sign up if you want to get it early, and want the other seminars (listed on the left)
