On the first Sunday of every month I offer a seminar that encourages people go deeper into the subversive heart of pyrotheology from the comfort of their own homes. These seminars delve into incendiary philosophical and theological ideas in an endeavor to provide some good old-fashioned intellectual stimulation. But they're also designed to penetrate our hearts and do surgery to our souls. The ideas will help us discover how we might experience a deeper, richer and more engaged form of life.
In the contemporary world both scientism and superstition remain popular positions with regards to reality. Neither having a robust understanding of the transcendental that has been so central to the deepest religious traditions.
In this seminar, I will be outlining four different ways that thinkers have sought to do justice to this notion (the Sublime, Mystical, Deconstructive and Dialectic) and relate this to Pyrotheology.
