Located in the cultural heart of Belfast and traditionally spread over a variety of historic venues, Wake is a festival that mixes the best incendiary intellectual exploration with underground art, music, magic, comedy, cabaret, tours and talks to forge an experience that embodies the destabilizing essence of pyrotheology.

Wake is a pop-up community that creates an environment for the exploration of radical ideas and the experience of existential rupture. Each year it brings together a ragtag collection of dissidents, heretics, fools and fundamentalists from all over the globe. People who want to forge new friendships, bid farewell to old gods, and learn how to affirm life in all its dirt and depth.

In 2020 we had to cancel the festival for obvious reasons, and it looked like the same was going to happen in 2021. However, we’ve decided to try something a little different. This year, Wake goes online.
